The Kendriya Karya Samithi ( Central Working Committee) of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has demanded the Central Government to resolve long pending problems of Workers immediately. The 161st KKS meeting of BMS has directed all it’s units to observe 17th August as Demands Day and organise Dharnas and demonstration at all the District Head Quarters , State Head Quarters and industrial estates to mount pressure on Government of India . The Demands include – raising the minimum Pension from Rs 1000/ to Rs 7500/ with VDA and linking it with Ayushman Bharat yojana; doubling the ceiling limits of ESIC, EPF and Bonus calculation and calculation formula for gratuity payment should be raised from 15 days to 30 days without any ceiling limits; bring back Old Pension Scheme; increase the Honarorium to all types of Scheme Workers; Payment of equal pay for the equal work should be implemented for all including Contract Workers; raise the Minimum wages as per the changing price index; Implement Five days working in Banks; Payment of pending wages of employees of the Heavy Engineering Company, Ranchi and 23 National Textile Mills situated in eight States and bring amendments to the anti- worker provisions in the Labour Codes. The BMS has called it’s units to submit Memorandums addressed to Honourable Prime Minister and Labour Ministers through District Authorities. The 161 st KKS Meetings held from 26-28 July 2026 at Ranchi was chaired by Sri Sunkari Malleshsm, All India President of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh. 173 members including 32 women have participated in this meeting. The KKS meetings thanked the International Labour Conference ( ILO) for adopting the Convention on -” Decent Work on the Platform Economy ” by bringing consensus among the Tripartite members. This indicates the success of the tripartite model. It also decided to hold seminars and street-corner meetings to bring awareness on the convention among these Workers. The KKS meetings congratulated the BRICS Trade Union Forum for making the summit a grand success and unanimously adopting “Hyderabad Declaration”. It also decided to continue the work of all the four taskforces viz – ” Skills for the future” and “Human-centric technology and AI”, “Women and Future of Work” and “Social Security for All” to conduct in depth studies and make suggestions to BRICS + Governments on these highly relevant topics .
